I have been teaching for over 20 years, and half of that has been US History I to 1865 in Virginia. I work in Orange County, Virginia near the Wilderness Battlefield. The county also boasts James Madison's Montpelier. I am surrounded by history and would like a fresh perspective. With the political climate as it is, I try to use primary sources in my teaching to state facts and stay away from my own opinions. I have been married for 26 years and have a daughter in college. I am a career switcher who started out in Nutrition/Dietitics/Food Service Management. I like to do crafts and quilts.
